Linea Insubrica marks the collaboration among three key artists in the contemporary global scene: Khalab, founder of Hyperjazz Records and a master of African-influenced jazz and electronic fusion; Catu Diosis, the visionary behind the Nyege Nyege collective and an ambassador for the new generation of African producers; and the late Gabin Dabiré (who sadly passed away last year), the Burkinabé virtuoso of guitar and m’bira.
The result is a burst of pure energy that blends Khalab’s rhythmic exploration with Catu’s Afrocentric and dancefloor-focused style, enriched by Gabin’s ancestral melodies. This meeting of musical minds transforms the dancefloor into a space of sonic discovery and transcendence, where contemporary Africa and experimental electronics come together in harmony, forging new pathways for musical rituals and collective euphoria.
The title evokes the geological fault line running through the Alps, formed from the collision of European and African tectonic plates millions of years ago. Like this ancient geological event, which has left a lasting mark on the Alpine landscape, ‘Linea Insubrica’ symbolises the artistic meeting point between Khalab and the late Gabin Dabiré, with Catu Diosis acting as the vital link connecting their musical worlds.
